The “meet cute”

We met during our first year of college in 2008, where we became fast friends mostly by complaining about how cold Chicago was compared to our shared hometown of Houston, Texas. Several years later, we realized we were in love while at a dueling piano bar. And since then, we’ve created a home in Brooklyn, NY with our dog Rupi.

In 2018 after seven years together, we decided that marriage was a thing we wanted to do! Eventually, we had a fun double proposal, where we each proposed to each other in different ways on different days. Because, why not?

The wedding you are attending could also be described as a “two year anniversary party,” as we were, in fact, married in New York City in a small civil ceremony on September 30, 2019. But according to Ranjani’s mother, “that one doesn’t count.” So we’re super happy to have you at the one that does!
